Speak softly, and carry a big—

It's very hard to explain the inner workings of websites and the internet to people who don't go on the internet much. "Web hosting" does not automatically translate into layman's language. Neither does the logic behind Katamari Damacy, but that's only because it's ridiculous.

Went to the movies for my brother's birthday. Saw a longer preview for 9, squee'd like a little girl. The Sherlock Holmes movie looks like a million kinds of fun, and that movie with the people that go around in robot versions of themselves? Awesome.

And instead of seeing Star Trek like the rest of the world, we went and saw Terminator: Salvation. And I... Really liked it. I mean, it definitely wasn't a moving commentary on the nature of the humans vs. machines, and it wasn't beautifully crafted scripting and plot, but so help me... There were explosions and robots and a lot of people running around being badass. Quite a few moments had us going, "Eeeeeeh," but there were also a few moments that had us going, "Oh... Clever!" as well. And did I mention the explosions? Lots of those. :)

So as long as you're willing to not take it seriously, it's pretty cool.

Ah, the birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing, the sun is shining, I got up at a semi-decent time, and my ankle has finally stopped being sore from that hike. Not a bad way to start a Monday.

Watched Monsters vs Aliens with the family two days ago. It was a lot better than I thought it would be! It was adorable, and all the monsters were really cute. 8) There were so many geeky references and sight-gags in that movie that mom and I kept giggling over. "What you don't know is that my PhD... Is in dance!"

Saw the preview for 9 again. Freaked out. I want to see it so bad. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, here's the trailer, the original short film the movie will be based on, and the awesome song used for the preview. If it had different lyrics, I'd totally use it as my Exalted character's battle theme or something.

And then I finally stuck a foot into the horror video game world with Resident Evil 4. It really does freak me out, but there is something oddly satisfying about blowing up the heads of people who are trying to stab you in the face with pitchforks. My mom and I both agree that the camera and walk controls are kind of obnoxious (seriously, is there a way to run? Please? You'd think Leon would run if he were being chased by zombies) and it would have been a lot easier to do anything if the camera were pulled back juuust a little. We make fun of the game appropriately, though ("This is the worst village ever.", "Why are we in Mexico... Europe?", "Damn it, I forgot that Mexicans had thumbs!", etc.) and it's good enough that I'll keep playing. As soon as... Someone gets home. Because it's spooky.

And I finished Elfen Lied! I kind of want to go back and read the manga now, since I hear the ending there is way different than the anime one. I think I liked it, but a lot of it made me cry. Especially with the puppies or whenever someone got emotional over their daughter. It's a bit ironic that all the truly terrible characters were the ones with stories that had me crying and feeling sorry for them, and yet I felt no sympathy or care towards the normal, kind characters (except for that one nice mother-figure lady who got blown up, because that shit was just uncalled for). All in all, good series if you don't mind people being constantly decapitated, naked chicks, and crazy, crazy angst.

Boy did I bet on the wrong horse...

My personal favorite would have to be Revenge of the Sith.

I spent the night over at a friend's house and now I feel kind of siiick.

But I got a really nice coat which is fabulous, because I needed a black coat to replace the one that got a bunch of holes ripped in it. It's warm and currently covered in dog hair. I will have to fix this.

I watched that new Indiana Jones movie. Crystal Skull, sure. It was predictable and kind of flat as far as storyline goes, but I still liked it. I closed my eyes and refused to watch the ant thing. Then we watched Covenant and I really liked it. There were a bunch of pretty boys with magic powers. I closed my eyes and refused to watch the spider thing. Running theme, y/y? I normally don't have a problem with insects, but thousands of little ones crawling out of your wall/ceiling/floor/skin/sewer/shower head/etc? Terrifying. Triple points if they're poisonous. Because there's no way you can squish all of them.

Bleh.

So I went with some friends to go see that new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian. I don't care what all the critics say, I thought it was a good movie. Full of magic and battle scenes and yes. It's a good example of why you should preserve the environment, because when you don't, nature kicks your ass. :|

EDDIE IZZARD WAS THE MOUSE. I HAD TO LAUGH WHENEVER HE SAID SOMETHING.

Excitement abounds, because I might get to see a laser show tomorrow with [info]pained_life and whoever else is coming, too. It'll be really late/early, but hey, it's Pink Floyd. I'm all over that. And I haven't been to a laser show since I was like, seven or something.

I've also got my game on Sunday, but [info]painless_hurt can't come because she's in Canada at the moment. :/ Which means I have to take notes and remember what actually happened this session. Darn.

So yeah. I'm gonna go play around with RP stuff for a while. 8Db

And then maybe play Kingdom Hearts II for the lulz.

I want to write something, but I have no idea what to write. Same as I want to change up my LJ layout, but I don't know what to change it to at the moment.

60 words

Touchtyping for free

That's a word a second, folks.

I feel oddly proud of myself. ♥ My words per minute have tripled since my freshman year, although that's probably because I spend a third of my life on the internet. :D

Mmm, me and my buds went to go see Alvin and the Chipmunks in theaters today. It was alright. Really cute. And I sang along to Funky Town, I admit it. After that we ended up going to see Sweeney Todd a second time. |D; I loved it even more than I did the first time. It was funny--my bud Megan and I were all psyched and had to stop ourselves from singing along (AND MY LUUUUUCY LIES IN AAAAASHES AND I'LL NEEEEVER SEEEEE JOOOOAAAAAANNAAAA~~~) while the rest of my friends just watched the movie with "._." looks on their faces the whole time. Oh, gawd. I loves me some murdering barber. It's probably my villain obsession and all.

Black Blood Brother DVDs come out in America around Valentine's Day. I know what I want for my birthday. 8Db

Oh yeah~ And I broke two of my RP characters in two days. I feel oddly achieved. Zelman snaps a little and goes on a burning spree, and Nagi snaps a lot and yells at Crawford which is something not even Farf gets away with (and he has insanity as a liable reason, so mostly-sane little Nagi is doomed). XD;

I NEED TO FILL OUT THAT VAMPIRE Q&A FOR MY SEXY VAMPIRE DOCTOR CHARACTER LIEK NOW.

OR SOON. WHICH IS LIEK NOW. HUH.

WON'T YOU TAKE ME TO.

FUNKY TOWN~

WON'T YOU TAKE ME TO.

FUNKY TOOOOOWN~

Alright, so~

The family and I just went to go see Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix.

I walked into that movie theater thinking, "Oh, yeah, okay, another Harry Potter movie, great."

I walked out saying, "THEY'RE ALL SCREWED!! 8D"

And to all those who've seen it, I have but only this to say to you:

SNAKES ON A BRAIN~~

In other entertainment news, I watched an anime movie by the name of Origin: Spirits of the Past. It was alright. Not something big, huge, insanely good like a Miyazaki or what-have-you, but it was cool for a while. It feels like it should have been longer, though, just so that they could explain everything better. In the end, I was a little lost as far as why all this awesome stuff was going down. But y'know, if you happen to find it, go see it. The bad guy is hot. ♥

I predicted that the chick in the movie would go crazy and kill people. Sadly, she did not, but she was misguided by the bad guy and almost killed the entire earth's population... So I think that makes up for it?
